Morts pour la France is a musical tribute to the historic role that France has played to advance the cause of human freedom in France and America. Presented in an operatic format, this unique, memorable, and moving presentation is the work of William Byron Webster, a highly talented composer and dedicated historian, whose most recent Opera based on the children's story, The Little Match Girl, received a spontaneous and enthusiastic standing ovations at its Paris premiere in 2013. Baritone Michael Orlinsky, Tenor Justin Plank, Mezzo Soprano Sarah Maxwell-Neipp, Soprano Lauren Cartwright, and pianist Edward Cibener, under the musical direction of Tim Salaver, will perform the beautiful and meaningful all-original compositions written especially for this program to celebrate, commemorate, and reflect the French-American history, leadership, and sacrifices that helped preserve and advance our liberty since our founding and through the successful conclusion of World War II 70 years ago.
